Producer's Work
FAQ
Answers adapted from the original Producers Work FAQ and updated for the current app, pricing, storage, and privacy policies.
What is Producer's Work?
Producer's Work is a focused music project tracker for producers, songwriters, composers, and artists who have a lot of songs in progress. It keeps project details, status, lyrics, collaborators, artwork, and WIP audio in one place instead of scattered across spreadsheets and folders.
It started as a tool for tracking a large personal catalog of unfinished music projects, then grew into a subscription app for other creators who need the same kind of workflow.
Tell us about the pricing?
New accounts get a 30-day free trial of the full app — no credit card required. When the trial ends you keep a free plan (10 projects, 1 GB storage, 1 audio version per project) for as long as you like; nothing is deleted.
Paid plans unlock bigger limits: Producer is $10/month or $100/year, and Producer Pro is $20/month or $230/year. The subscription covers hosting, storage, audio playback, email, payment processing, and ongoing development.
Will I see ads?
No. Producer's Work is subscription-funded, so we do not need to sell ads or monetize your attention. We also do not sell, rent, or give away your personal data.
Who is this site for?
Producer's Work is for people managing a lot of music ideas and works in progress: producers, songwriters, composers, artists, and anyone else moving songs from scratch to release.
The project fields are designed around music production, including BPM, key, genre, vocals, mix status, master status, release dates, lyrics, audio versions, artwork, and collaborator notes.
Who can see my projects and audio?
Only you can see your account, projects, and uploaded files by default. Other users cannot browse or access your data.
If you choose to share a project or audio link with a collaborator, that person can access what you shared. As with any hosted service, site administrators can technically access stored data for support, security, and operations, but your music is treated as private.
What do you do with my data?
We store the email, profile details, project metadata, lyrics, artwork, audio, and related files needed to run your account. We do not sell your data and do not use your uploaded work for advertising.
If you cancel a paid plan, your account simply drops to the free plan and your data stays put. Only if you delete your account entirely may data be permanently removed after 30 days, so keep your own copies of anything important.
Can I download my data?
Yes. You can export your project metadata from your account. This export is meant for project details and does not include uploaded audio, artwork, or other media files.
Producer's Work is not a backup service. Keep your own local or cloud backups of masters, stems, artwork, and any files you cannot afford to lose.
Can I use Producer's Work as my only audio backup?
No. Uploaded audio is there so you can listen, review, organize, and share work in context. It should not be treated as the only copy of your masters, stems, or important files.
Always keep your own backup plan outside of Producer's Work.
Is the software available to buy for my own site?
Not currently. The current focus is running and improving Producer's Work as a hosted subscription app.
